Karoline Bernadette Ramersdörfer
Caroline Ramersdorfer started philosophy studies in Paris, France in 1979 she continued with african art history, museum science, renaissance fresco restoration at the International University of Art in Florence, Italy ; etching at the grafic art studio of Santa Reparata in Florence from 1981-83 and Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara, Italy from 1983, where she completed her thesis for a diploma in Sculpture and Environment in 1988. She received grants for work and study in Japan from the Austrian Ministry of Art and Education in 1991-92, for New York City in 1993, she received funding from the Federal Chancellery Vienna and UNESCO Paris for Project Carambolage, an arts and cultural exchange with the Caribbean West Indy island Dominica in 1998 and in 2001 funds supporting her project Inner Views, a 10 year confrontation with Japan’s culture, visualized through sculpture, video, photography, poetry, calligraphy in various expositions in Austria and Germany. Caroline Ramersdorfer has been comissioned large pieces for sitespecific urban and park environments, created pieces in international sculpture symposia since 1986, participated in expositions in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Japan and Taiwan. Her work is in permanent private and public collections in Europe, Japan, Taiwan, Canada, the U.S.A and Dubai, United Arab Emirates.and China. In 2005 her sculpture was awarded 1st price at the Emaar International Artsymposium in Dubai. Her sculpture Inner View won the Gold Award at the international city of sculpture and cultural year exposition in Zhengzhou China in june 2006.
