Shah Betancourt is a collaboration between an Indian contemporary architect and a French designer. The nonconformist duo aim at adapting individual techniques and aesthetics to simple, almost daily local materials, in order to cunningly modify them and maximize the outcome.Ashiesh Shah studied architecture at the Academy of Architecture of the University of Mumbai.After working with Nozer Wadia Asociates, he has started his own contemporary architecture firm in Mumbai, Ashies Shah Associates.
Thierry Betancourt studied History of Art at Oxford University. He then became an expert in 18th century Europen Furniture at Sotheby´s before moving to India to start his own furniture design studio. They live and work in Mumbai, IN.
